PhD – Special Session for PhD students

AIM

This special session aims to provide an opportunity for PhD students to present their ongoing or completed work, receive constructive feedback from experts with different perspectives, and engage with the broader research community. By participating to this session, the PhD students will not only disseminate their results but will also have the possibility to identify new ideas and refine their future research directions.

We welcome submissions from all areas of computer science, spanning theoretical foundations to applied and interdisciplinary work. Contributions from MSc students are also encouraged, especially those pursuing research-oriented projects or considering doctoral studies.

  • June 15, 2025 (AoE): Paper submission (Extended Deadline)
  • July 15, 2025 (AoE): Notification of acceptance
  • September 12, 2025: Registration     
  • September 12, 2025: Revised papers according to reviews
  • September 22-25, 2025: Symposium

All deadlines are 11:59 pm, AoE time (Anywhere on Earth).

PAPER SUBMISSION

We welcome original research contributions in the following formats:

  • Full papers: 6–8 pages, presenting mature research results.
  • Short papers: 4 pages, suitable for work-in-progress, early-stage results, or demonstrations of software prototypes.

All submitted papers will undergo a peer-review process. Selected papers presented during the conference will be published in the SYNASC 2025 post-proceedings, edited by the Conference Publishing Service (CPS) and submitted for indexing in ISI Web of Science, DBLP, and SCOPUS.

The best student contribution will be honored with the  “SYNASC 2025 Best Student Paper Award.”   

The evaluation criteria include:

  • Novelty and originality of the research
  • Quality of the paper (writing, methodology, results)
  • Clarity and effectiveness of the presentation

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • All submissions must follow the CPS Conference Style
  • Submissions should highlight the research problem, methodology, key results (even preliminary), and future research directions.
