Workshop description

Big Data technologies are now applied everywhere, in science, engineering, medicine, healthcare, finance, business and our society life. The purpose of this workshop is to present and discuss the state-of-the-art in implementing Big Data technologies in different domains, such as environment, cultural heritage etc. The contributions should focus on applications or technologies related to Big Data. Furthermore, during the workshop the participants will have the opportunity to discuss and share the latest research results applied to scientific and technical problems.

Specific topics for this workshop include, but are not limited to, the following:

+ Big Data Applications (real-life case studies, trust in Big Data, etc.)
+ Big Data techniques (analytics, scalability, acquisition, visualisation, graph mining, software systems etc)
+ Big Data infrastructure (Cloud, Edge, streaming, HPC, autonomic, energy-efficiency, accelerators usage, programming models, computation in memory etc)

Paper submission

We invite submissions of up to 8 pages (in CPS Conference Style) which must contain original research results not submitted and not published elsewhere. The submitted papers will be refereed and accepted on the basis of their scientific merit and relevance to the Workshop topics.

The papers should be electronically submitted through EasyChair.

The papers accepted for presentation will be included in a locally edited proceedings (electronic version on a memory stick). Accepted research papers should be presented on-line at the conference and the best papers will be selected for publication in the post proceedings published by Conference Publishing Services.

Extended versions of the papers accepted and presented at the workshop will be considering to be published in a special issue in SCPE – Scalable Computing: Practice and Experience (SCOPUS and WoS indexed).
