The city and the surrounding region have an unique history in Romania, being over the centuries an object of dispute for several states (Roman, Hungarian, Ottoman, Austrian), which left their still visible marks, and, above all, a very multicultural society which constitutes a beautiful example of harmony in Romania and in the Balkans (30 Km from Serbia). From this location you can arrive at the West University of Timisoara by walking in 15-20 minutes (see the locations of &#8220;Bastionul&#8221; and &#8220;Univ de Vest&#8221; on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/search\/Timisoara\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.aboutromania.com\/maps207.html\">map<\/a>).<\/li><li>From the airport by taxi: You can order a taxi in the airport from the information office in the public area (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotim.ro\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/aerotim.ro\/index.php?pg=taxi\">details<\/a>). The price from the airport to the West University or the nearby hotels is around 10-15 euro.<\/li><li>From the railway station by tram: You can use tram 1 from the station (&#8220;Gara Timisoara Nord&#8221;) to the Cathedral (&#8220;Catedrala Mitropolitana&#8221;). Then you can walk 8-10 minutes to the West University.
