What is more, phenomena such as information explosion and half-life are often compounded by incidents such as COVID, which are becoming more frequent and impactful. It is clear that Data-Intensive compute algorithms—and the people around them—are undergoing massive and continuous changes, at an even higher rate than before and with unprecedented global scale.

This talk will address the emerging frontiers of such novel data-intensive continuous computing in combination with emerging AI software demands, starting from an algorithmic perspective and delving into the approaches—both numeric and symbolic—that make such intelligent algorithms continuously evolving, smarter and smarter, as well as explainable and socially sustainable. I will conclude with research directions and novel frontiers which are still to be even fully incepted including take-home messages on such frontiers.

Short Bio:

Damian is an Associate Professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology and the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science, in s’Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands. Damian completed his Ph.D. at VU University Amsterdam, The Netherlands in March 2014 “cum laude and mention” one year in advance of a standard Ph.D. His research interests lie mainly in Complex Software Architectures (with a focus on Data-Intensive Architectures, Cloud & Microservices as well as Machine-Learning & Computational Intelligence Architectures), Complex Software Architecture Properties (with a focus on Privacy & Security), and Empirical Software Engineering (with a focus on Organisational, Social, and Societal aspects with Qualitative Methods, social-networks analysis as well as Machine-Learning). Damian has published over 100+ papers in either Journals such as the Transactions on Software Engineering (TSE) Journal, The ACM Computing Surveys (CSUR) Journal, the IEEE Software Magazine or top software engineering conferences (such as ICSE or FSE) and top software architecture conferences (such as ECSA or WICSA). Also, Damian has been an active contributor and lead research in many EU FP6, FP7, and H2020 projects, such as S-Cube, MODAClouds, SeaClouds, DICE, ANITA, DossierCLOUD, ProTECT, and more. In addition, Damian is IEEE Software and ACM TOSEM editorial board member, secretary of the TOSCA TC as well as secretary of the IFIP TC2, TC6, and TC8 WG on “Service-Oriented Computing”.

Damian Tamburri Technical University of Eindhoven, The Netherlands Frontiers of Data-Intensive Compute Algorithms: Sustainable MLOps and Beyond Abstract: The aggressive expansion of big data and data-intensive computing combined with the onset of Machine-Learning and AI-software as principal components to software systems has forced both practitioners and researchers to look for new ways to cater for increased demands […]

["post-2481","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
